Ongoing Projects

Country: Lebanon | Focus: Youth | Goal: $20,000

 Drill Wells For the  Community

Around Alnoor Highschool and community nearby clean water wells are scarce. Many drink unsanitary water and some get sick. Our goal is to prevent that by constructing a new well for the 400 students and nearby community. The program will provide improved access to safe water and reduce the risk of water-borne diseases like Typhoid and Diarrhea. With the addition of the wells, walking distances to safe water will be reduced to a maximum of .5 km. The program also offers the opportunity for increased income, with more water for crops and less travel time to and from the water sources. The program will impact over 500 individuals in the nearby communities.

Additional Classrooms

Currently we have three overcroweded classrooms. Each classrom has fourty students. Each classromm is designed to accomodate 25 students. If we build three additional classrooms, we can divide these classes. Each classroom would then have 20 to 25 students. With your donation we can achieve this goal and provide a better classroom atmosphere for these students. The cost would be $20,000.00.

Nursing Facilities

Alnoor School is need of a clinic room for a nurse to examin the health of students. Students do not visit doctors unless urgency exist .At an early age, some students do not recognize they have hearing or vision problems . These conditions cause students to fall behind and may not be able to concentrate or comprehend as their classmates do. Recently, a teacher realized a first grader coming very close to the page to read. The teacher told the principal and found that the child had a vision problem. Nursing facilities, ( one room to keep students records and one room for examination) to examine students for vision and hearing would help ensure that student's health is somehow cared for as parents seldom take their children for yearly check up. Cost of two rooms and equipment would cost $ 15,000.00

Playground Equipment for Alnoor School Students

Our goal is  to build a playground to benefit around 200 elementary students. The community playground will include slides, swings, see-saws and jungle gyms. This playground will impact approximately 200 children, helping them develop socially and athletically. Almost all  schools in the rural areas of Lebanon do not have play facilities for the students and children. If at all, the play activities of the children are limited to their household premises depriving them of the opportunity to play and bond with other children, which is important for their wholesome development. The program offers a non-sedentary, fun outlet for children in Denbo. Alnoor Foundation supports and promotes the implementation of the Playground Equipment Project that will provide children appropriate and safe facilities for play. Playgrounds promote healthy physical activity, allow children to develop their social skills and can play an important role in the maturation

This is the location were we will construct the playground
