To provide access to high quality education for boys and girls in rural areas using English and French as the medium of instructions.
The school views education as a major stepping stone towards social mobility, equality and employment opportunities.
Since its inception, Alnoor Highschool made its mission to provide a quality education to girls and boys starting from KG thru - University level. Upon graduation from highschool, Alnoor Foundation would help the young men and women, who is in need of financial help, to attend local and international universities and consequently get professional jobs to help themselves, their families, and their communities.
We need your help/donation to help these underserved people and victims of poverty.
Programs:
1. Build a Youth Center at Alnoor High School.
Benefits: Protecting youth from social risks and problems. Developing social norms and values among youth at Ain Alzahab and surrounding areas. Encourage youth to take care of their environment. Offer training sessions (handicrafts, sewing, agriculture guidance and computer training). Hold seminars, conferences, and groups of discussions on subjects that concern youth most such as sports activities, importance of education and how to prepare an individual to establish a better future with economical prosperity
2.Provide Education Opportunities for the Youth in Ain Alzahab Akkar , Lebanon
Benefits: Women and girls who have been considered a second class and some of the women and girls up to now do not have access to school would benefit the most o this initiative
3.Establish an education path from the KG level through elementary, middle, secondary and university levels
Benefits: All children, male and female, would benefit most and a new generation would have been literate focusing on education, economic development, environment protection, and plan for a better tomorrow for themselves and families.
History
The School was established in 2009 in Denbo,Lebanon by Alnoor Foundation who recognized the need to empower young students in rural Lebanon.We now have currently 400 hundred students enrolled , 250 of them are girls and 150 are boys. With input from many creative talents over the year, the school has become a model for preparing its students for success in life while contributing to the local community.
Problem
Students in Ain Alzahab, Lebanon tend to drop out of school from the sixth grade and some make it to the ninth grade. This is due to the fact that there is no hope in getting education and getting a university degree. There is no high school in the town and going out of the town to get high school degree is very expensive and a big burden on the parents. Most parents are farmers and could not cultivate their farms because of the lack of water and the parents themselves were not given an educational oppurtunity to qualify themselves. And therefore not being able to support themselves and their families. This trend of dropouts started long time ago and still continues today.
Solution
Alnoor Foundation believes the solution to this problem is providing educational opportunities. To remove the notion of oppression and deprivation, Alnoor Foundation established Alnoor Highschool in Akkar, Lebanonto provide educational opportunities to students who would be otherwise unable to pay for their education.
One of the purposes of this project is to provide education from KG to High school level and then bring those students who graduate from high school to local and international universities to complete their education.
The second purpose is to open the educational door, skill training to youth who have dropped out of school to go back to school and learn skills that who help them find appropriate jobs to help themselves and their families.
This lack of encouraging education, if it is not solved n0w our next generation may not be able to do much, and they may very well find themselves forced to make living in unacceptable way and could they become harmful to others. Today, students continue to drop out from school at ninth grade and below. They have no hope in education and those who have hope can not afford to go to local and/or foreign universities.
